Bring Arabic Back
I have always had a prominent accent. During a conversation my friend and I were having over tea a couple of months ago, the issue of accents came up and my Canadian friend asked me if I have ever been ‘harassed’ for my accent. I questioningly looked at him and laughed. It sounded absurd to me. My English was proper but I did have an accent of my own, one that clearly resounded because of a tongue that insisted on bending in an Arabic way.
